Under Windows, it recognizes instantly and installs easily. The canon MP210 is a pretty good scanner/printer combo for the money. I usually just print papers for school, and so I don't use color ink very much, so ink won't be too costly. But I have to manually flip over every page if I want to save trees and be environment friendly. I wish it had the option to print double sided though, maybe I just haven't found it. I have yet to find something I need to copy or scan so I can't say much about the quality of scanning or copying. It is an all in one printer though, so you won't need to buy a separate printer, copier, scanner this does it all. But this was free, so I couldn't complain. I also tend not to like inket printers because the ink smears sometimes, as opposed to laserjet printers. It's really loud and takes a while to warm up. But I've noticed that the printing isn't too special.

Also, I got this free with the purchase of my laptop. I've only used this printer for printing, and so this review might be a little biased. It's an Energy Star certified printer, so I like that it saves energy too. The things I scan at high quality and re-print aren't 100% like the original, but they are good enough to get by if needed. It seems a bit slow to me, but it's not an industrial machine by any means so I'm OK with what I've got.

I use this all the time to make my own Christmas and birthday cards for family. It has a printing program that lets you scan, design cards, size photos, add text, all sorts of stuff.

I also really love the user friendly software that comes with it. Especially if you save ink and use Fast printing with Grayscale for most stuff.

Speaking of picture printing, I don't use this feature a lot because the inkjet cartridge costs aren't worth it to print whole albums at a time, but for the occasional photo, this thing is awesome. Makes it great to print high quality pictures and give them out to friends. My fave thing about this printer is that it has borderless printing, so margins are irrelevant now. The Canon MP210 is a color inkjet printer, scanner, copier, and photo printer all in one.
